Sponsored Programs' and ORSP's New Training Manager, effective July 1, 2016
After an extensive search process, we are pleased to announce that David Mulder has accepted the position of Training Manager for both Sponsored Programs and the Office of Research and Sponsored Projects.
Mulder began his career at the University of Michigan in 1999, helping support the implementation of the new M-Pathways administrative systems. In particular, he was responsible for training and communications for the M-Pathways student administration systems, with a focus on student records, curriculum, and academic advising.
In 2003, Mulder joined the eResearch team, originally to provide training and communications support for the initial implementation of the eResearch IRB system. He quickly moved into a business systems analyst role and was then named product manager for the system.
Mulder left the IT world for a stint as assistant director of the U-M Medical School Institutional Review Board (IRB) but returned to ITS in 2008 to lead the eResearch team as assistant director for research administration systems. Since then, the team has implemented the eResearch Proposal Management (eRPM) and Animal Management (eRAM) systems as well as the M-Inform Conflict of Interest system.
In this new position, Mulder will direct, design, and deliver specialized research administration training to University employees, the internal staffs of ORSP and Sponsored Programs, as well as faculty and staff across the entire University research enterprise under the Navigate professional development program. Mulder will also serve on the Training Subcommittee for the Research Administration Advisory Council (RAAC).
Please join us in welcoming David Mulder to this new position!
