E-Verify, ORSP, Sponsored Programs and You

Update: January 2011 -- Threshold raised to $150,000

Roles and responsibilities related to the E-Verify process

If your unit provides contracted services to the U.S. government, federal regulations now require the university to electronically verify the identity and work eligibility of all faculty and staff on the contract whenever the requirement (known as the FAR E-Verify clause) is specified. The verification system is known as E-Verify, and all federal contractors must use this new system when required. The university began using E-Verify in December, 2009 and will continue using it to verify faculty, staff, and new hires working on federal contracts.

The requirement currently only applies to federal contracts that are in excess of $150,000 (updated January 2011) that are signed by the University after September 8, 2009.

Business Process

Units should see that appointments are made to the project on a timely basis and notify your unit's HR liaison as expeditiously as possible so your HR individual and central HR will know who to E-Verify.
