RAIN Senior Seminar :: Topics in Human Resources

Intended for the seasoned research administrator, this all-day seminar will explore issues of recruiting, hiring, bringing employees onboard, orientation, and maintenance of appointments through termination.


Specific considerations for the following groups will be addressed:

This seminar incorporates hands-on exercises with discussion and small group work. Each participant will also receive access to a C-Tools site with resources and notes from the seminar. Pre-class assignments will be made.

It will be offered May 4, 2011, 9 am-4:30 pm. Instructors are Cathy Seay-Ostrowski, of UMTRI, Karen Liska, Engineering, and Tracy Schauff from the International Center.

Similar to the RAIN program, participants must apply for a spot in the seminar and will be notified via email of their acceptance into the program. Check with your school for any unit-specific guidelines for applying. Eligible research administrators include those who have completed the RAIN program or have equivalent education and experience.
