On July 17, the Navigate Research Administration Team held a recognition lunch for everyone involved in making the Navigate classes as successful as they were in FY 2019 - instructors, workgroup participants, design team members, program sponsors, and other special contributors. In all, there are approximately 80 program volunteers who come from all over the Ann Arbor campus as well as Dearborn and Flint.
The festivities began with remarks from a couple of very special guests: Rebecca Cunningham, Interim Vice President for Research, and Kevin Hegarty, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, followed by an overview of how successful the program was in FY 2019, with 19 unique instructor-led sessions, 9 unique e-Learning modules, and 1200 participants throughout the program for the fiscal year.
A Navigate event isn’t complete without playing “Jeopardy” using research-based topics and this lunch was no different. Even seasoned research administrators were left scratching their heads over some of the answers.
The Navigate program sponsors, Craig Reynolds, Executive Director, Office of Research and Sponsored and Projects and Debbie Talley, Director, Finance-Sponsored Programs, wrapped up the event with a few words of appreciation for all the amazing people involved in this program.
