PEERRS Training Required for Awards
Basic Definition
PEERRS is an online training program in the My LINC system that offers some (but not all) of the university's regulatory and responsible conduct of research training.
Why It's Important
U-M requires regulatory training to meet sponsor and university guidelines. Certification in the two PEERRS courses below is required prior to the issue of an award. Additional regulatory training (e.g., human subjects protections) may be required prior to the start of the research.
How to Comply
Investigators on a sponsored research award (any role) must be certified in two PEERRS courses:
- Responsible Conduct of Research & Scholarship (RCRS) Training (registration link)
- Research Administration (registration link)
These certifications must be maintained for the life of the project. Certifications are valid for three years and can be renewed by re-taking the course.
