Managed Affiliates

Managed affiliates are entities with whom the University of Michigan has an agreement to facilitate U-M conducting research activities at the managed affiliate’s site. View a current managed affiliates.

Managed affiliates are entities with whom U-M has an agreement in place to facilitate U-M conducting research activities at the managed affiliate’s site. Such agreements may include terms governing U-M’s access to and use of the managed affiliate’s facilities, equipment and services.

It is important that project teams make ORSP aware when any part of an externally sponsored project will take place at a managed affiliate’s site, as the agreement between U-M and the managed affiliate may include terms that affect both funded and unfunded agreements negotiated by ORSP.

    • Once Chelsea signs the request form:
      • For Contract PAFs, CTRFs and UFAs, upload the signed request form to the eRPM record before routing the record to ORSP. ORSP will not begin negotiating an agreement with an external entity until the signed form has been uploaded to eRPM.
      • For PAFs in “Submitted to Sponsor state, Request ORSP Action and upload the signed request form so ORSP can begin negotiating the agreement.
  • Adding a Managed Affiliate location to an active AWD record:
