The Research Administration Mentoring Program (RAMP↑) is a unique mentoring program for University of Michigan research administrators. Individuals involved in this program will have an opportunity to build important relationships within the University and enhance their professional growth.
About RAMP↑
Supported by the Office of Research and Sponsored Projects and Finance-Sponsored Programs, RAMP↑ has been connecting research administration professionals for more than 10 years. The program pairs mentees and mentors who meet at least monthly for one hour between October and July. The call for applications for both positions takes place in September of each year.
Additional Information:
- No minimum years’ experience are required to join either the mentor or mentee cohorts in RAMP↑.
- Prospective mentors and mentees are required to fill out an application and submit a one-page letter of support from their direct supervisor.
- Orientation sessions are conducted virtually to prepare mentors and mentees for their time in the program.
Cohort information
Depending on their experience in research administration or their length of service at the University of Michigan, mentor and mentee applicants will either be paired with a mentor or mentee, or assigned to the Group Mentoring for Emerging Research Administrators cohort.
Applications for the current cohort are closed; please check back in Summer 2026 for more information.
