ORSP Realignment – Team Formation Progress Updates

ORSP has implemented the formation of each of our sub-teams and is now working to elevate its operations.  

Refer to the updated organizational chart and reporting structures, serving as a guide for locating department/unit assignments on the website.

This positions us to operate at an elevated level, enabling us to support higher volumes of research with greater efficiency.

With all teams formed, they are equipped to specialize in portions of the Project Lifecycle

  • the Contracts team is responsible for all funded and unfunded agreements
  • the Pre-Award team is responsible for review and submission of proposals
  • the Award Management is responsible for all non-financial post-award activities
  • the Coordinators team is responsible for data efficacy and management of key workflows

Contracts

Emily Baxter, Director, Contracts oversees the Contracts area which includes Sponsored Contracts, Clinical Trials, and Unfunded Agreements.

Sponsored Contracts

Tip: The Sponsored Projects team handles sponsored project contracts or “funded” agreements. As with previous practice, you can look up any of the school/college designated contract staff on the ORSP website. https://orsp.umich.edu/orsp-staff. 

Clinical Trials

Unfunded Agreements

Eric Ward, Assistant Director, Unfunded Agreements

Tip: The Unfunded Agreements (UFA) team handles UFAs, including data use agreements (DUA), non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) (including clinical trial NDAs), Teaming Agreements, and other UFAs. As with previous practice, you can look up any of the school/college designated contract staff on the ORSP website. https://orsp.umich.edu/orsp-staff. 

Pre-Award & Award Management

Karen Alameddine, Director, Proposals & Award Management oversees the Proposals & Award Management area which includes Pre-Award and Award Management.
