Plan Ahead for U-M Year-End Season Days and Closings

In preparation for season days, please note that U-M business offices, including Office of Research and Sponsored Projects (ORSP) and Sponsored Programs, will close at 2 p.m. on Dec. 24. Both offices will reopen at 8 a.m. on Jan. 2.

We encourage U-M research project teams to plan proposal submissions appropriately based on the deadline policy. Submit FSRs by Dec. 5, 2024.

Proposal Submission Deadline Policy Reminders 

Office closings will impact whether your proposal receives a Full Review, a Limited Review, or is At Risk.

Sample scenario: A proposal is due to the sponsor on  Wednesday, Jan.1, 2025 (or as early Tuesday, Dec.24, 2024) at 5 p.m.

  • For a full review, your proposal is now due to ORSP by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024
  • For a limited review, your proposal is now due to ORSP by 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, 2024
  • If you submit to ORSP after those dates, then your proposal is at risk and may not be submitted.

Review the university’s Proposal Submission Deadline Policy, utilize the Proposal Approval Form and Proposal Checklist and reference the Calendar Examples of Deadline Policy to work through your scenarios.  

Submit FSRs by Dec. 5, 2024

Sponsored Programs needs Financial Status Reports (FSRs) earlier. Please be prepared to submit FSRs by Thursday, December 5, 2024. We have a total of 2,033 to complete by the end of the calendar year.
