The Navigate program is pleased to announce webinar and course offerings to be conducted virtually through Zoom sessions this fall. 


Webinar: The New NIH Data Management & Sharing Policy

Webinars - Navigating Research Administration at the University of Michigan
Sara Samuel, Informationist, Taubman Health Sciences Library and
Diane Wilson, Assistant Director at the Office of Regulatory Affairs, will present an overview of this policy which goes into effect on January 25, 2023. The webinar will include U-M resources for writing a data management and sharing plan along with Frequently Asked Questions.

Course:  Uniform Guidance Cost Principles

Uniform Guidance - Navigating Research Administration at the University of Michigan
This virtual 2-day course is recommended for new and seasoned research administrators involved in the pre-or post-award management of federally-sponsored research projects. It is designed to help you plan and manage Uniform Guidance (UG) Cost Principles, the importance of UG compliance, and how to plan and manage UG expenses throughout the project lifecycle. 

Dates:  Day 1: November 10, 2022
             Day 2: November 16, 2022
Time:    8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Attendance at both sessions is required.
Course Fee: Temporarily waived
Class size is limited to 40 participants. Registration is required. Once the class is full, registrants will be added to the waitlist and notified if openings become available.


Course: Budgeting Basics for Sponsored Projects

Budgeting Basics
This virtual 2-day course is recommended for newer research administrators:
  • with approximately one (1) year of on-the-job experience;
  • who have minimal experience working with budgets for sponsored research proposals; and
  • who are proficient in using Microsoft Excel.

Note: Those who are currently attending or have previously attended the in-person or Spring 2022 virtual Navigate: Fundamentals course should not register for this course. The Fundamentals course content covers the concepts and materials included in Navigate: Budgeting Basics for Sponsored Projects.

Dates: Day 1: December 6, 2022
            Day 2: December 13, 2022 
Time:  8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
